Olympic Fever!

Yes... it's sad but true...I have Olympic fever. I've been going without sleep to watch the U.S play in just about every sport. I'm soooo glad I have only one channel that shows it and I watch it only during the "Prime Time".
The Olympics are amazing.. the people who participate amaze me with the determination they all have to reach their dreams!!

Western Carribbean Cruise
On a few more weeks until our cruise. I am taking our daughters on a cruise to Jamaica, Grand Caymen, and Cozumel Sept 10-23. We can't wait!!!! JOhn is taking a 2 week motorcycle trip by himself down to the Grand Canyon and southern Utah to the Arches, Bryce Canyon and other National parks. He is so excited, but of course I am worried about him going alone. He will be spending his first night in Idaho Falls with Ashley and then hoping to spend a night with his good friend Kendall in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Unwilling to grow old gracefully
Well,John and I are unwilling to let age creep up on us. We have started exercising like crazy. Each morning we go to Fuel Fitness and work out. We have also staarted riding bicycles in the evenings and hiking. We hiked Mt Helena a week or so ago, and I couldn't make it to the top. a Few days later, we took a 10 mile hike and it was 4 miles up a mountain and 2 down, then 2 up and 4 down. We made it but could hardly walk for a couple of days. However, shortly after that, I thought that if I did that then I could make it to the top of Mt Helena so we tried it again and I did make it clear to the top. We sat on the top and looked out over the valley. It was like sitting on top of the world. It was beautiful and such a feeling of accomplishment. It seems the more active we are, the more we want to do things like this. It is great. We highly recommend it to everyone.

Cute Addition
Abby is such a cutie! The picture where she is sitting on your lap actually looks like she is sitting in a baby backpack. I actually called Dad to make sure you didn't go and buy one for her.

My trip to Texas
I went down to Texas to visit Windy and her family for about 2 weeks. I don't think I ever worked as hard as I did the first week I was down there. We cleaned out her garage and laundry room. We hauled stuff to a storage unit and hauled tons of stuff out for the garbage men to pick up. We also moved Joseph out of his office and fixed up the room for Andrews bedroom. We did it in a nautical theme and it turned out so nice. It looks like something from Pottery Barn. Anyway, we did a lot of organizing and got some of her viny orders done. I really enjoyed it. I love to be busy. Anyway, I flew out of Spokane and back into Spokane so John took me over and picked me up. It was a nice trip

What Sharon Means
What Sharon Means |
![]() You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong. You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know. You don't always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don't have as much going for them as you do. You are truly an original person. You have amazing ideas, and the power to carry them out. Success comes rather easily for you... especially in business and academia. Some people find you to be selfish and a bit overbearing. You're a strong person. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You are well rounded, with a complete perspective on life. You are solid and dependable. You are loyal, and people can count on you. At times, you can be a bit too serious. You tend to put too much pressure on yourself. You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people. You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts. You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals. |

What a Body!!!!
John has been doing Body for Life. It is a 12 week program on eating 6 meals a day and exercising every day. It is a transformation process and it has truly transformed him, both in body and in other areas of his life. He is on week 12 and then will start over. I am so proud of him for his commitment. If I can find a picture, I will put it on this blog.

A great Book!!!
I just finished reading a book called A Complaint Free World. It is great and I guess it is really catching on everywhere. It is being taught in schools, Churches, jobs, and communities. Go to www.AComplaintFreeWorld.org and read about it. John and I are going to do it and we ordered books and the bracelets that go with it for each of our daughters. No, I am not insinuating that you need it. I just think it is a wonderful program and want to share it with you.

Feeling sorry for myself
Lately I have been feeling sorry for myself. I have been called "Food Nazi" and been accused of making coments about peoples.s weight ,mainly my daughters. My sister was even asked if all's I talk about is weight. My mother was extremely overweight and I was very embarassed of her because of all the comments that other kids made. She also lacked any self esteem because of her weight. I was alittle overweight growing up and comments were made to me that I could afford to lose a little weight. I know the importance of good self esteem. I also know how good it feels to set a goal and saccomplish it. I love my daughters and only want them to be happy. When I ask them about going to the gym or starting a diet, it is not for my benefit, but for theirs and to show some interest in the things they are doing.. I know some of them are not happy with themselves and I just want them to be happy and healthy. Finally at the age of 56, I finally realize how important it is to take care of yourself before it is too late. Yes, I may be a control freak or a food nazi, but I love my children so much that I would just die if anything happened to any one of them. I am even afraid to mention that I have lost another pound or started running, for fear that they will think I am again bringing up weight or exercise. I just am proud of myself and want to share my excitement with them and anyone else who may care. But, I won't mention anything to any of them about it anymore. I also know that if they could stop blaming me, they could accomplish the same thing. Please take control of your own life now and do what you need to do to be healthy and feel good about yourselves, whether it be just eating to be healthy, or losing weight or just getting a little exercise.
